Victoria Park, Ross County
I remember the game I went to see at Ross County. It was a first round CIS Cup game v Airdrie United. The game ended 3-2 to Airdrie after extra time. Unfortunately I cannot remember the scorers and haven't been able to find information on the web. But it was a good game. Both teams were attacking and Airdrie took a deserved lead before Ross County scored 2 in the 2nd half only for Airdrie to level things up just before the end and took the game to extra time and then later on found a winner and despite county's efforts, they couldn't find an equaliser.
I was going to this game whilst up on holiday at a cottage in Culloden, just outside Inverness. The cottage was nice and had a brilliant shower too. It was situated in amongst other cottages in a quite part of the countryside. But we decided to go to this game just so we could see another ground. We had no idea where the ground was but were lucky enough to spot it because of good directions in Dingwall by street signs. Victoria Park has 2 seated stands and one enclosure for standing. It was a reasonably tidy ground and the seated stands gave the ground a better look. At the other end of the ground was a small terrace for away fans if needed. But they were normally situated at the far end of the main stand, which ran along the whole line of the pitch whilst the other seated stand was a small one at the halfway line.
It was a nice night in Dingwall and the sun was setting and the weather was warm. The teams came out and Ross County were in their navy blue shirt and Airdrie in their white and red V shirts. Airdrie took an early lead from a shot just inside the area. Ross County hit back with 2 goals one being a header from a corner. Airdrie got a last minute goal and took the game to extra time where they scored with a diving header and sent their small travelling fans wild.
Although I can't remember much of this game, it was both end to end and full of action, goals and effort from both teams. I am going to try get to another game here in the near future to get a better review of Victoria Park.
