Scottish Stadiums

Welcome

Hello everyone, I am Jamie and welcome to my website covering my journey to visit all the senior football teams in Scotland, as well as the Highland League and North Region Juniors.  I decided to go on this quest after watching the World Cup in 2006 which was held in Germany. The country was full of fantastic stadiums and it made me want to see more than just Pittodrie, so I attended my first away game in football when Cove Rangers played Inverurie Loco Works in the Highland League Cup final at Huntly's Christie Park back in 2007.
I grew up in the small village of Newtonhill on the north east coast, south of Aberdeen. I lived there for 11 years before moving to Alford, which is about 24 miles north west of Aberdeen. I then attended Alford primary then Alford Academy as I grew older. After 2 years of Alford I moved back to the North East to the small town of Portlethen, which is where i currently stay. It was here that I started to attend more football matches at my beloved Aberdeen F.C. I held a season ticket in the Merkland Road stand for 2 years before deciding it was too expensive and was not worth the value. It then occured to me that I would go watch Cove Rangers F.C since they were close to home and it was much cheaper to watch. My first game attended was an intense 3-3 draw with Forres Mechanics at Rainbow Taxis Park. I remember Cove were 3-1 down and came back in the last 10 minutes to grab 2 goals. This was such a brilliant game it invited me to attend more often. Since then I have being going to a lot of Highland League games and have enjoyed every one of them. From 3 seasons of watching Highland League football, I have only ever encountered one 0-0 draw. This game involved Cove Rangers v Inverurie Loco Works where both teams huffed and puffed but couldn't break the defences down.
